I bought this tent to camp out in developed campgrounds. It was easy to put up and take down, although the first time I put it up, it was dark out and I was by myself (71-year-old woman), so it took a while and then a good Samaritan came to my rescue. But this is the kicker and the deal breaker--I had no idea, and nowhere does it say, that you cannot close off the ceiling to keep the warmth inside. It was hot during the day and so the tent was very warm but the air circulated great through the open windows and the ground vents. It was very windy and it held up great with the wind. Had no rain so did not test the water resistance but I would imagine the rainfly will keep most of the moisture out. The main drawback is that, even with a little heater, I could not keep it warm inside at night when the temperature dropped to 50 degrees and it was windy. I am trying to think of a way to have a covering made that you can attach with a zipper like the windows so you can open it up during the day and close at night when it gets cold. I am going to contact Outdoor Products to see if they have this on any other models because I plan to use it twice in October and the nights will be getting cold then too and this is just not going to work for what my intended use is. Of course, I did not have a chance to open it up and test it before the trip due t inclement weather at home. I was actually afraid I could not get it back in the carry bag, which like others have said, is a very difficult task. I did manage to get mine in, rainfly and all, but I took it down during a very heavy wind storm so it was very tricky indeed. I hope someone has some suggestions of how I can get the ceiling to work like the windows so I can close them off during cold nights. This tent is a great value for the money. Would highly suggest setting it up completely before taking on a camping trip. Two of the corner hinges were assembled upside down (hence the 4 stars instead of 5). This is a quality control issue. We did have to remove the screws and reassemble the hinges and it went up quickly. If someone did not know what they were doing this could be a reason for returning. Our first trip out (3 nights) we had probably 22 hours of heavy rain. The first night we had 14 hours straight and then the second wave came in the form of severe thunderstorms. I will preface the water resistance with the fact that we did put two coats of waterproofing on the tent and the fly prior to our trip. We had a little bit of leakage near one of the seams during the 14 hours of rain and the next day after the rain stopped we did apply another two coats to the seams. The thunderstorms brought torrential rainfall and we stayed completely dry. Having the screened roof seemed to really help keep condensation down considerably. I would not call this a cold weather tent due to the all screen roof, but for summer camping it’s perfect. The floor vents on the front and back were great and no water came in.As you can see we had a Queen size air mattress which fit perfect with plenty of room around the bed. I would honestly say that sleeping 8 would be a stretch and could be accomplished laying side by side. For a family I would suggest the 10 person.I highly suggest purchasing heavy duty stakes, as with any tent the stakes are very flimsy. Also, take note that rainfly does not extend past the tent bottom so water will dip into the bottom 3rd of the tent. Highly suggest waterproofing or even using a tarp for extra protection in heavy rain. The zippers are very good quality and the floor and bathtub bottom are a plus. We did last a tatoo under the tent for extra protection.Outdoor Products 4 Person Instant Tent Easy Up, Easy Take DownReview is after 1 camping trip. Will update review if anything changes.I tried to upload an HEIC photo from my camping trip, but Amazon wouldn't take it.I'm a 65 year old, petite lady. I remote camp alot and had alot of requirements. I had to be picky.I'm a Bigfoot researcher and LOVE to camp. No crowded campgrounds for me. Gotta be out in the woods, by myself or with a few friends. My Requirements: I needed something easy to put up, easy to take down, small enough to not be too bulky and take up too much space, small enough that I could easily handle at the end of a camping trip when I'm exhausted, large enough to set up my cot, potty and folding table and in cold weather, space enough for my Little Buddy Heater, as well as tall enough that I could stand up in. Bathtub floor was a requirement. Easy to put up rainfly. Hook for a camp light in the center. Net pockets for cell phone, Kindle or book and other items. At a 'Reasonable Price'. Well, I couldn't get it all, but I got most. The price hurt - OUCH! Especially for a 4 Person Tent.No net pockets inside for a cell phone, and other items. That knocked it down to 4 stars. There is a loop outside the door to hang a light. The single door is easy to work (so far), but I always carry a candle to run along the zipper just in case it decides to get stubborn. 2 zippers that you can either zip up halfway and meet in the middle, or only use one zipper to zip to the top so nosy raccoons won't come inside in the middle of the night. But, it fulfilled all of my other requirements. It didn't rain during my first camping trip, only a little drizzle, but it was fine and dry inside. No matter what, I spray the seams on every tent I own, anyway.Any other issues that pop up, I will update this review.
